Do you think sweat smells bad? That’s not quite true. In fact, fresh sweat is absolutely odourless. It is only after it has been on the skin for some time and bacteria multiply there that the bad smell starts. As bacteria thrive in the moist areas of skin under your arms, these areas are in particular need of deodorant protection.
There is also a persistent rumour that sweating makes you slim. If only that were true! Unfortunately this belief is wrong. When we sweat, we only lose water – not fat. The weight loss is balanced out even after taking a drink break.
Belief number three:
It’s not just sport that makes us sweat – spicy food has the same effect. There is some truth to this rumour!
Hot spices boost our metabolism and promote the circulation. The body reacts to this by producing more sweat.
